Check out this incredible taffeta '50s dress. It's from the Esty store Adore Vintage and I stumbled upon it during a power-hour google image search. It's perfect for my show as it blends the 1950s and the 18th century perfectly.

Boardwalk Empire Research

Been working on designs for the pilot of Boardwalk Empire. For those who are not familiar with the show, it's about mobsters in Atlantic City on the day prohibition was instated. Lots of mob bosses, loose women, prohibition supporters and FBI officials.

Marriage of Figaro

Right now I'm working on designing costumes AND sets for Mozart's Figaro. It's crazy and a lot of fun. I'm setting it in 1786 Vienna but with a modern twist. The opera takes place in a day so the show starts out in a white wash then gradually changes to a black out with bold colors. Here's a compilation of images that show the mood of my interpretation of the show.

I have to say, the biggest inspiration is from my two favorite blogs, Miss Pandora and The Cherry Blossom Girl and their incredible photographs & outfits from Le Carnaval De Versailles.
